Before framing walls, you need to:

  • Define the purpose of Wall Type layers (stud layers, drywall layers, etc)

  • Map the Framing Configurations and Sheathing/Paneling Configurations (optional) with type layers

Number Walls

Number Walls automates data in the Mark instance parameter.

  1. Hover over Number Elements

  2. Open the drop-down menu

  3. Click Number Walls

Recommendation: number the walls first, then number the elements (framing families)

Number Elements

  1. Navigate to Wall+M

  2. Click on Number Elements

Number Elements inputs the data into the FM SortMark, CNC Part Name and CNC Number instance parameters of:

  • Structural Framing families (studs, tracks, etc)

  • Structural Connection families (service holes, angles, fixings, etc)

  2. Click on Create Assembly

  3. Select any framing element in the chosen wall

10. Export Frame

After framing and numbering walls, you can export frames for CNC production.

  1. Find the CNC Metal Exporter in Revit ribbon

  2. Select a wall or multiple walls

  3. Click on CNC Metal Exporter menu and select Export Frames
