# Fire Damper Insertion Configuration

To insert fire dampers, users have to map fire dampers present in their model to the structures present in current or linked modes. That can be done by the "Map Host Element Types to Duct Accessories" function.

{% hint style="info" %}
Fire Dampers can be inserted in the model where ducts are present
{% endhint %}

It will allow to select which fire damper element (if any) should be inserted if ducts cross the specific structure type. This will be done in a table similar to the Opening Control table.

After mapping is performed, we can move to the[ fire damper insertion.](/3d-modeling-and-design/cut-opening/insert-fire-dampers.md)
