# Fire Damper Insertion Configuration

To insert fire dampers, users have to map fire dampers present in their model to the structures present in current or linked models. That can be done by the "Map Host Element Types to Duct Accessories" (configuration) function.

Temporarily, functionality is accessible through ARKANCE DOCK Cut Opening page:

{% endhint %}

Configuration allows selection of a fire damper element (if any) to be inserted when ducts cross the specific structure type. This will be done in a table similar to the Opening Control table.

Select which wall type should get which type of fire damper.

After mapping is performed, we can move to the[ fire damper insertion](https://docs.besmart.software/3d-modeling-and-design/cut-opening/insert-fire-dampers) process.
