# An error occurs when activating the license

## Problem

When trying to activate a license, you may encounter this error message: "An error has occurred indicating it will not be possible to write a New License in the associated License Store".

## **Solution**

1. Re[install the Dock](https://docs.besmart.software/quick-start/arkance-dock-installation-guide#dock-installation-instructions)
2. Ensure that the user has full access to this folder: C:\ProgramData\AGA-CAD\
   \
   Navigate to C:\ProgramData\AGA-CAD, right-click on AGA-CAD folder > Properties > Security > Edit > Select your user/user group > Tick 'Allow' for 'Full control' and save your changes.

3. Restart Revit and activate the license
