# Workflow

1. To use Smart Connections, make sure you have Line-based or Point-based Families loaded in a project. See help file Requirements for Families and Categories.

**Note:** You can find sample families in Smart Connections Sample Project.

2. Create Configuration

In Smart Connections Configurations, select appropriate Category and define rules governing what should be inserted and where. See related help files.

Select elements and place your inserts with selected configuration:
