How to apply the same Stud or Plate family in Framing Configurations?

If you want all Studs and Plates (except around openings) to use the same Stud and Plate families respectively, check the boxes Use for all Vertical/Horizontal Elements (except Opening):

Note: you will not be able to apply different family types in the settings on the left.
