# Common Settings

<figure><img src="/files/WP5rh2MoX8cCraXdMQmG" alt=""><figcaption><p>Common Settings tab options in Export Setup window</p></figcaption></figure>

## Common Settings

***

* ***Location for export of CNC files*** – lets you choose where the export files are supposed to be placed:
  * ***Project file location*** – the exporter will create a separate folder at the same location where the current Revit project is saved
  * ***Custom location*** – lets you choose the common location for all exported files

***

* ***Project Information Parameters*** – lets you choose what kind of Revit parameters will be used for exported file metadata:
  * ***Project Name*** – lets you choose a parameter for collecting project name
  * ***Object Number*** – lets you choose a parameter for collecting project number

***

* ***Elements Identification and Mark*** – this section lets you choose a configuration for marking elements, edit the configuration and create export filters:
  * ***Configure*** ![](/files/cwihmwBywpsvA1VajMwn) button opens [Advanced Setup menu (Element Identification and Mark)](https://app.gitbook.com/o/GVtnSLEqyn4gTgkVXno7/s/qtUsszuAWXIZhQhrvjnb/~/changes/967/design-data-management-and-exchange/cnc-exporters/weinmann-btl/user-interface/export-setup-window/common-settings/advanced-setup-element-identification-and-mark) for editing configuration for markings.
  * ***Automatically skip not marked Elements*** – lets you exclude specific elements from being exported:
    * ***Ticked*** – excludes elements that have information missing in parameters defined in the configuration.
    * ***Unticked (default)*** – not active; everything is exported.
  * ***Automatically skip filtered out Elements*** – lets you exclude specific elements from being exported:
    * ***Ticked*** – excludes elements based on the filters defined in Element Filtering tab in [Advanced Setup (Element Identification and Mark)](https://app.gitbook.com/o/GVtnSLEqyn4gTgkVXno7/s/qtUsszuAWXIZhQhrvjnb/~/changes/967/design-data-management-and-exchange/cnc-exporters/weinmann-btl/user-interface/export-setup-window/common-settings/advanced-setup-element-identification-and-mark).
    * ***Unticked (default)*** – not active; everything is exporter.
  * ***Marking Orientation by*** - allows you to choose what element should be used as a reference for placing mark:
    * ***Host*** ***(default)*** - orients the marks in relation to the Revit host element (wall, floor, roof, truss)
    * ***Element*** - orients the marks in relation to structural framing elements.

***

* ***Assembly Station Mode*** – allows you to merge a few frame assemblies into one file and controls the whole file structure:
  * ***Export Composite Layers*** –  once active, it changes files hierarchical order to include *Composite* Layers. This will generate a separate layer for each of your Revit structure layers from the wall/floor/roof element you are trying to export. Framing elements that are part of the specific layer will be assigned to the respective layer in the export file.&#x20;
  * ***Export as one file*** – once active, allows you to combine a few framing assemblies into one file to assemble them on the table simultaneously. Frames will appear side by side in a line, and will be touching one another except "Clear Spacing" offset is more than 0.
  * ***Unit Rounding*** – here, you can enter how many decimal points you want values to have in the export file.
  * ***Clear Spacing*** – here, you can enter the distance between the different assemblies if the "Export as one file" option is used.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.besmart.software/design-data-management-and-exchange/cnc-exporters/btl-exporter/user-interface/export-setup-window/common-settings.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
